Jerk Off! is a one-woman play spanning several years in the life of Nadia Manzoor. After losing her mother to cancer at twenty, Nadia moves from London to Boston, where she falls for Miguel — a mesmerizing hip-hop dancer who teaches her to battle, to pop, and to access parts of herself she’s been hiding from her conservative Pakistani family.
As the relationship deepens, so does the violence — and so does Nadia’s complicity in a cycle she’s been trained to recognize at work but can’t see in her own life. Blending visceral storytelling, comedy, movement, and ritual, the play is a love story, an abuse narrative, a grief portrait, and a coming-of-age comedy that refuses to let its protagonist be simply a victim. It insists on her agency, her humor, her surveillance, her manipulation, and her eventual, hard-won liberation.
