Yulia, the Ukrainian prime minister is serving 7 years in prison in Kharkiv. Tymoshenko has been on two hunger strikes, since her imprisonment. Her sentence is abuse of office with gas deals to Russia.
She has also been a prime suspect for a murder of Yevhen Shcherban and may be given a life sentence. She shares a prison cell with a young woman who was framed for a murder who becomes her savior as well as her enemy.
Before becoming Ukraine’s first female Prime Minister in 2005, Tymoshenko co-led the Orange Revolution.
Tymoshenko has been a practising economist and academic. Prior to her political career, Yulia Tymoshenko was a successful but controversial businesswoman in the gas industry, becoming by some estimates one of the richest people in the country.
